KARACHI: Customs aut
horities on Thursday arrested two people from Jinnah International Airport who were attempting to smuggle foreign currency worth $50,000 from Karachi to Dubai.
A customs department spok
esperson said
that a passenger named Muhammad Yaseen was arrested during checking on a Dubai-bound flight.
During screening, the customs staff noticed a huge amount of money in a bag.
He further added that Customs Superintendent Muhammad Afzal, who was associated with the passenger, was also taken
into custody.
Both were sent on remand after the arrest.
