PRCS, Ehsaas join hands for assistance of deserving people

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Ehsaas Program have joined hands to financially assist the deprived and disadvantaged sections of the society.
A PRCS delegation led by Chairman PRCS Abrar ul Haq, Secretary General Khalid bin Majeed and Adviser Col (r) Shah Rukh called on Special Assistant to the Prime minister (SAPM) on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation and Chairperson Ehsaas Program Dr. Sania Nishtar. It was mutually agreed that the Ehsaas Program would provide data on the deserving and disadvantage people to the PRCS for financial assistance through its Cash Transfer Program (CTP) enabling them to make ends meet. Category-D has been specified for the deserving people comprising daily wagers and unemployed people.
Speaking on the occasion, Abrar ul Haq said deprived segment was a part of the society and the PRCS considered it godliness and a means to win the pleasures and bounties of Allah Almighty. He said the affluent section of the society could not afford to turn a blind to their plight. He further said the PRCS would wholeheartedly serve such people after sharing of the data by the Ehsaas Program.
Sania Nishtar said it was a matter of immense pleasure and satisfaction that the PRCS always prioritized the weaker and socially deprived segments of the society and its cooperation with the government was a matter of pride.
Secretary General PRCS Khalid bin Majeed welcomed cooperation between the two institutions and expressed hope that serving the deprived section of the society will add to the prestige and reputation of the two institutions.
Program managers from the two departments would coordinate with each other to ensure a transparent and flawless process of financial assistance to the deserving. It merits a mention that under its Cash Transfer Program, the PRCS has assisted thousands of people affected by the natural and manmade disasters.
