Friendly cricket match held at COMSATS cricket ground

To empower youth and promote higher self-esteem, Roots Millennium Schools Mayfair and Oxbridge campuses arranged a friendly cricket match in collaboration with COMSATS University Islamabad.

The one-day cricket match was organized at COMSATS cricket ground Islamabad. It was a cricket match between two teams from Mayfair campus and Oxbridge campus. The ground was decorated with colorful banners. There was a huge crowd of students who had gathered in the playground to cheer their respective teams.

The event started with the introduction of both teams followed by the toss. The toss was won by Mayfair Campus who decided to ball first. The Oxbridge team played very well and set the target of 63 runs in five overs. The team of Mayfair Campus worked hard to achieve the set target but the match was won by Oxbridge team by 40 runs.

Mayfair Campus Principal Uzma Rafey gave away prizes to the winning team. Both teams were also given appreciation certificates. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Uzma Rafey said according to Theodore Hesburgh, author of “The Importance of School Sports and Education,” it is imperative for school age children to have access to sports and game. These types of activities motivate students and enables them to get better grades, she added.
